What Must I Do To Be Saved?
A question that every sensible person and seeker of the truth will ask at one point or the other. Having read and understood Parts 1–3 of Eternity Awaits, I believe the Lord has directed you to choose the Narrow Path of Life. Congratulations for the best choice that you have made today. If you’re asking, “What must I do to be saved?” Please read and follow this simple, step-by-step guide to salvation — to eternal life.
A Simple, Step-by-Step Guide to Eternal Life
1️⃣ Acknowledge the Truth
- You cannot save yourself.
- Good works cannot save you.
- Religion cannot save you.
- Only Jesus Christ saves.
- He alone paid for your sins with His blood.
Salvation begins when you accept the truth about yourself — and the truth about Him.
2️⃣ Repent — Turn From Sin
Repentance is the first step Jesus preached.
Repentance means:
- A genuine turning of the heart.
- A willingness to surrender your old life.
- A decision to stop walking in sin.
Repentance is not merely confessing sins to a priest occasionally.
Repentance is a personal turning away from darkness — directly before God.
True repentance produces a change of heart, a change of mind, and a change of direction.
3️⃣ Believe — Trust in Jesus Alone
Jesus is:
- The only Savior.
- The only Way to the Father.
- The only Door to Eternal Life.
Believe that:
- He died for you.
- He rose again.
- He forgives your sins.
- He will make you new.
Salvation is not earned.
It is received by grace through faith.
4️⃣ Confess — Declare Jesus as Your Lord
Speak it out with your mouth.
Say it boldly.
Say it clearly.
“Jesus, You are my Lord. I surrender my life to You.”
This confession marks your new beginning.
5️⃣ Be Baptized — Obey Jesus Immediately
Here is the correct teaching, based on Scripture:
✔ Baptism is dying to self.
It is you identifying with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.
✔ Baptism is rising to a new life.
Your old life is buried.
Your new life begins.
✔ Baptism is partaking in Christ’s death and resurrection.
✔ Baptism is crossing over — from darkness into light.
From Egypt to the Promised Land.
From the old ways to the new covenant life.
✔ Baptism is a personal decision.
Not parental choice.
Not tradition.
Not culture.
You must choose it yourself.
✔ Baptism is immersion — not sprinkling.
The word “baptizo” means to immerse, to submerge, to bury.
Just as Jesus was baptized in the Jordan.
When you go under the water — your old life ends.
When you rise — your new life begins.
Baptism doesn’t save you — Jesus saves you.
But baptism is the first act of obedience for the saved.
6️⃣ Receive the Holy Spirit
Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to:
- Teach you
- Guide you
- Strengthen you
- Convict you
- Comfort you
- Empower you
Ask Him to fill you.
Daily.
Deeply.
Fully.
7️⃣ Walk on the Narrow Path Daily
Salvation is a journey.
A lifelong walk.
A daily choice.
Walk in:
- Obedience
- Holiness
- Truth
- Prayer
- The Word
- Fellowship
- Forgiveness
- Compassion
Stay faithful until the end.
Jesus said:
“He who endures to the end shall be saved.”
(Matthew 24:13)
8️⃣ Call on Jesus — Your Savior
If you are ready to be saved, pray this from your heart:
“Lord Jesus, I come to You today.
I repent of all my sins.
I believe You died for me and rose again.
I confess You as my Lord and Savior.
Forgive me.
Wash me.
Change me.
I surrender my life to You.
Help me follow You on the Narrow Path.
Fill me with the Holy Spirit.
Thank You for saving me.
Amen.”
9️⃣ Your Eternal Destiny Begins Today
If you prayed sincerely:
- Heaven rejoices.
- A new life begins.
- Your name is written in the Book of Life.
- You have crossed from death to life.
- Eternity is now secured in Christ.
Welcome to the Kingdom.
Walk faithfully on the Narrow Path.
Your eternity begins today.
